Each year during the month of March, the Hopkinsville-Christian County Human Rights Commission celebrates Women’s History Month and sponsors activities which pay tribute to women who have contributed much to our community.
Women’s History Month (WHM) will be celebration by the Human Rights Commission during March of 2025. The theme “Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations.” celebrates the collective strength and influence of women who have dedicated their lives to education, mentorship, and leadership. Through their efforts, they have served as an inspiration for all generations — both past and present.
The Women’s History Month Celebration will take place on Thursday, March 20, 2025. The Fannie Bronson Postell Woman of the Year Award and the Women Educating Women Scholarship will be awarded during the celebration. The program will begin at 6pm at Milkweed health & harmony emporium, located at 202 East 9th Street, Hopkinsville, KY.
Women Educating Women Scholarship
$500 Scholarship given to a female who is a resident of Christian County and is continuing their education in order to serve the HRC’s Mission Statement upon completion of their degree. Download the Scholarship Application here.
The “GIVE $10 ASK 10” campaign is a fundraiser sponsored by the Human Rights Commission for the “Women Educating Women” scholarship. This fundraiser is held to help a deserving woman in Christian County further her education. Please take a moment to consider making a $10 (or more) donation to support the Women Educating Women Scholarship and sharing the opportunity with others. Donations are accepted all year long and are tax deductible.
Hopkinsville Human Rights Commission Women’s History Month Committee would like to offer the community of Hopkinsville Christian County an opportunity to honor and remember the life of a woman they lost due to COVID-19. We want to offer communal comfort to our neighbors, family, friends and co-workers in telling herstory.
